1) Tire Derived Fuel (TDF)
  Method: use shredded scrap tires for fuel
  Advantage(s): generate high British Thermal Units (BTU's)
  Disadvantage(s):
  • toxic emission: sulphur, carbon and heavy metals
  • hydrocarbon emission
  • ash disposal
  •

    2) Landfilling
      Advantage(s): ease of handling
      Disadvantage(s):
  • high disposal and operation costs
  • occupied limited landfill spaces
  •

    3) Pyrolysis
      Method: thermal decomposition of an organic material under the exclusion of ambient oxygen
      Disadvantage(s):
  • still in experimental stage
  • high energy cost require
  •

    4) Rubber Soil Technology
      Methods: Reform rubber crumbs derived from scrap tires into construction blocks by a patent pending homogenous rubberised bonding technology
      Advantage(s):
  • low cost of production
  • provide an active solution by recycling scrap rubber tires
  • provide a massive and permanent solution to utilize scrap tires
  • environmental acceptable
  • produce high performance construction material for civil/geotechnical applications
  • reduce construction costs of earth structures
